Impasse

Tonight I find myself at an impasse.
Tethered in plain sight, an obvious fallacy.

With a poker face this good
Even the observant never could
Figure out the pieces out of line
’Cause everything seemed too fine.

I shall relinquish myself to thee,
Alas! If only I was free.

Believe did I that I was able
To express my thoughts as in a fable.

Powerless and weak, Oh how I detest
These states that have put me to test.

Anger and frustration,
Converted to tears of desperation.

An anatomy of emotions.
A masachoistic being with fairytale notions.

As beautiful as the universe may be,
Cruel and merciless is she.

Do not let that sadden your heart my love.
For I am yours to claim always, even now.

The pull on the outside might be rough,
But the push within is just as tough.

Wild roses adorn these shackles on my wrists.
Helplessly I clenched my fists.

Smiling beneath the faint moonbeam,
Tonight I find myself at an impasse.
