Who Sets Your Pace?

With this indefinite quarantine looming over all our heads, you must also be hearing how people are utilizing their time efficiently and getting maximum mileage out of staying at home. Now, that can be really inspiring for people like me who invariably push tasks for the last second and somehow race against time to finish it! But I recently came across a tweet that said, “Do not fall for the productivity race, you decide your pace.” And I instantly felt at ease and blessed the handle that tweeted this. Because I was under the impression that I have to make something of all this extra time that I have in my hands now or else I won’t have anything to show once the world order is restored!

It’s ridiculous how easy it is to get carried away by that one part of their lives which people project on social media channels. The reality exists in the moments that aren’t shared, the ones that aren’t story worthy. We often forget that in the glamour of it all. Sometimes it’s okay to slow down and be in the moment. As long as you’re in the driver’s seat of your life, you shouldn’t really be bothered by the people who set the speed limits.

These days, I ensure that I follow a routine that I am comfortable with, a routine that makes me content and happy with the way I spent my 24 hours. So, I decided to sit and learn the art of meal planning. Dedicating an hour daily to learn how to shop according to the meals assigned for the days and how to prep the items in advance. I also take long Netflix breaks between my tasks and sometimes nap in the afternoon (and that’s okay!)

How are you spending your days?
