As we look to the heavens for our future home millions of years from now, one may ask: what about now?

Technology is advancing at light speed.

Human lives are improving at a…. slower…. rate.

This may seem like a significant issue, but many are thriving as their creative ideas have evolved into dominant business ventures. Those at the top of the income bracket are flourishing more than ever.

Still, there is a glaring issue.

While a small minority are rich, countless others are suffering at a disproportionately high rate when it comes to their potential for standard of living.

There is a need for a seismic shift in the world’s priorities away from business success to human success. You can have people without business. You cannot have business without people.

The devaluing of people has been far-reaching and the elevation of money quite common.

These are all anti-social and have the potential to blind and numb an individual from traits such as empathy.

The sad truth is not all are pushing toward people having a better quality of life. It may be harsh to hear, but there are people out there that claim their desire to move society forward with no such intent. It is simply a diversion.

The quest for tomorrow has blinded many from the struggle of today.

A certain degree of hardship is inevitable in life. We can’t control everything, but we can start on the individual level. There are ways to halt this narcissistic, selfish gene before it propagates and grows within you.

Here are some ways to keep priorities placed on the bigger picture of humanity rather than just yourself:
